Lucy Youngblood is getting set-up in her and Miss York's office. The former office of one Keith Williams... She shuffled some papers, awaiting a knock at the door. Finally it happens, and Bobby Williams walks into the office. He stands with his hands on his hips, not looking amused. It was clear that he was still carrying around a lot of anger over his father's death a little under a year and a half ago.
Thanks for coming, Robert.
It's Bobby!
Alright then, Bobby, I just thought you would want to be known as the more grown up version of your name.
I'll stick with what my father called me, 'thanks'.
Of course. I called you here today for a couple of reasons. I think it's best that we get the 'business' talk down first of all, then we can try to repair our personal relationship.
Bobby nods.
It's now official. ViralPro have signed the masked 'England' to a contract. They've signed him as a 'character', mind you, so he'll never unmask. And there are rumors that it is YOU under the mask. Similar attire, similar wrestling style. You do know that doing something like that would still be a violation of your exclusive Innovation:Wrestling contract that your dad and I negotiated years ago to protect you, right?
First off, maybe I don't need protecting, alright? You may have gotten my foot in the door in 2009, but as far as I'm concerned you haven't had my back once I got here to Innovation:Wrestling. Outside of occasional matches, maybe a month run here or there and the brief time I had the World Class title, both you and my father left me to languish in the independents such as Pro Wrestling Live.
Pro Wrestling LIVE are the minor leagues, Bobby, working there whilst waiting to be called-up to the main roster is different from competing at ViralPro on your days off under a mask.
What do you want me to say, Lucy? It isn't me. But since that guy can't unmask I guess you'll never truly believe me. So now we're even, I can't trust you either.
When have I ever given you reason not to trust me?
How about right now? I guess you really landed on your feet as Lionheart's close friend, because now you sit there in my father's chair in my father's office as the head bitch in charge of Innovation:Wrestling. All whilst my father's legacy as the owner of the British Wrestling Alliance lays in ruins, a company which folded under your reign as 'general manager' in February 2006.
It wasn't me who put the BWA World Title on the line in a match against Chris Lionheart in a unification match and lost, that was your pops. Do you think a British-based wrestling company can regain it's public image when it's top tier title belt vanishes in one night, and is absorbed into an American company's mid-card United States title? That was wrong on so many levels.
Ah yes, another reason why I despise Chris Lionheart. Taking advantage of an old man's pride. He forgets that without my father training him he would never have been a wrestler in the first place! And after the accident with mother, because he was too green to know what he was doing, if I was old enough at the time... I would have killed him then.
Bobby... did you...
Yes. I saw it. Who do you think told my father?
I'm sorry...
'Yeah, sure you are'. Like I said, you landed on your feet fine, I guess now I can see where your loyalties lay all the time.
That's not fair, Bobby, and I think somewhere deep down you know that. And you know that you're not really mad at me. I have done nothing but try to help you. But I had to let you become seasoned in independent companies like PWL. You already had your father in authoritative power in 2010. Anything you achieved yourself, such as the World Class title, could be derided as favoritism from your daddy.
So what, you're going to make thing right by me now, somehow?
I'm going to try, trust me. I was hurt when you chose to have Arianna as your manager last season instead of me, Bobby. And since she did nothing for you last year, I think you have nothing to lose by giving me another shot to help you.
Well, you've got a long way to go. I heard you'd scrubbed 'Royal Bash' from the history books. Replaced it with Abomination. Another of my father's ideas that has seemingly been erased - not good enough for you or something?
It's true, I did that. But it's because I was planning to relaunch Royal Bash with a new format, and didn't want it to have any connection to the old 'one-off' event. That is one of the ways I was going to try to honor your father, and I have another idea for how to make things right with you as well.
Lucy reaches behind her desk and places a leather title belt sleeve on the desk.
This is the BWA World Title that was worn by your father for much of his career as he sold out arenas and almost single-handedly revived the British Wrestling scene. I won't reactivate the title, but I want you to have possession of it, and to wear it to matches to remind yourself of your heritage.
Thanks Lucy, and I mean it this time.
I won't hand you anything in this business. It is important for you to earn your own achievements and carve your own legacy. But I will always have your back in personal matters. And if you want me, I will always stand in your corner as your manager. Who knows, maybe one day we'll get the British Wrestling Alliance up and running again as either a wrestling training school or an overseas independent company.
Maybe, huh? Alright Lucy, I'll take all of this at face value. But don't ever try to screw with my father's legacy, understood?
Understood.
Bobby picks up the BWA World Title from the desk and slowly wraps it around his waist, before shaking Lucy's hand and walking out of the office without another word...
Once he is gone Lucy picks up the phone on her desk and punches in a number.
Hello sir. He says he isn't ViralPro's 'England'. I believe him. Yes, he seemed fine with the new Royal Bash plans. And he accepted my piece offering of the BWA World Title. If I:W and ViralPro do end-up going to war - which I think we will if that bitch Ashley Silva keeps trying to steal talent the way she did with Ashley Milano - I think Bobby will be firmly in our camp. I will keep you updated as we go.
