It was time to get on the ball. Viral Wrestling was a few months away from opening and wrestlers were free agents. The topic that had to be addressed first was the signing of Viral Wrestling's Champions. First on that list was the Viral World Champion in Nate Michaels. So it was time to take a trip to Canada. The private leer jet of Miss York was ready as she was ready to depart. It was clear that definite instructions were given to her people while she was away. On arrival to LAX, she was escorted through the masses and entered her jet.
A few hours later she touched down in Calgary. Many locals that were there gave their voices of seeing him again on TV. The intention of Viral Wrestling was to be sure they signed him. As Miss York entered her limousine, the next destination was the residence of Nate Michaels. There had been phone conversations between the two. It was clear to Viral Wrestling and ownership that it was a personal touch with the names of this business.
Going through the country was exquisite and finally getting to the house of Nate Michaels. Looked like he was in a secluded area. She walks up to the door with her business materials in her hand. She knocks on the door hoping to see Nate Michaels.

*Nate had been Working Out when Miss York had arrived at the farm. Because of the headphones on his head he did not hear the initial knock, but after a few moments he put down his weights and took a drink of water. He grabbed a towel and removed his headphones to wipe the sweat from his head, when he heard the second knock on his barn/gym door. He wrapped the towel around his neck and walked over, and slowly pushed it open. He was surprised to see Miss York*
"Victoria, odd to see you out in the country. Come on in."
*Nate turned around and walked back inside, the 'gym' he set up was very fitting for a country boy type. In the corner large bales of hay were stacked to the ceiling, a wrestling ring was set up as well, a numerous types of weights, along with bags of feed were spread throughout. A long hallway down the backside of the barn lead to the horse stables. Nate had a few horses competing this year in the annual Calgary Stampede. He took a seat on a wooden bench*
"So what brings you to my neck of the woods?"

After knocking it was unclear if anyone was home. Nate looked like he kept himself in great shape. As Nate sat down I sat down and wanted to discuss the possibility of signing a contract.
Mr. Michaels, I am here to see if you've thought about resigning with the greatest wrestling entertainment that a dollar can buy. My interest is getting the best talent and showcasing them for our fans. And yes, you are my first stop. You being the current World Champion and a fan favorite, it's important that I do everything I can to make the Viral fan base happy. Not just that but for your fans to see you on the venue of all venues.
Now Mr. Michaels in this briefcase is a lucrative contract. It has huge incentives. A large base salary with bonuses for main event matches, title defenses, and ppv appearances just to name a few. I want you to be a big part of Viral Wrestling. The decision is yours. So look at the contract and see if it meets to your highest expectations. If there's anything I can do to make the contract sweeter then we can talk about it. Now Mr. Michaels, you are important to us. So much that I flew from Los Angeles to Calgary.
The briefcase was opened and Nate was handed a contract. Would he take it? Would he sign it? What are the incentives and value that he was looking for?

"Yea, a plane ride that takes only 3 hours..."
*Nate turned his gaze down at the contract offered and began reading some of the details*
"So you want me to sign on for another 3 years, that'll probably mean I finish off my Career in Viral."
*He continued to read*
"More money then my last contract, full time schedule...Hrmmm, seems like you guys are making a class A offer, I appreciate that Victoria. But what about Merchandising? Currently I only get 20% of Merchandise sales on stuff that I endorse, I want at least 45%. As your biggest draw to both young adults and kids, I brought in the most money. I mean how many of those 'Paid, Made and Laid' jackets do you still have in storage?"
*Nate read through the rest of the contract*
"See Victoria, I'm in a very comfortable place right now, my last contract allowed me to secure mine and my kids futures, I really have no reason left to wrestle other then the fact I want to see what the new crop of superstars has to offer. But I could watch that from here on TV. That said, I have been getting offers from FTW, CWE, and BWA to name a few. The question is how much do you want the Viral World Championship back? I'm sure management wouldn't want it appearing on another promotions show.
So here is what I want if you want me to resign. I don't want a full time schedule. It's to much, and I want to spend more time home with my kids. As Champion I only want to fight once a month, and thats to defend the belt. I want 45% of all merchandise sold with my brand, and I want to be able to pursue interests outside VW. Those are my terms"

It's clear Nate was playing hard ball. Other companies bidding for his services too. It put Viral Wrestling in a tough spot. He was champion and didn't need that belt on other shows. Now what made Victoria York a billionaire was her way of negotiating and getting deals done.
Mr. Michaels, it's obvious you've made money. A big star. Part of that has to be your time here at Viral Wrestling. No doubt you were good in other places before arriving here. Your reputation and wins vs losses speak for themselves. Being a huge talent that has no gender, race, or age discrepancy is why you are where you are. You are right some stars sell better than others. No doubt Mr. Quinn and a few more just didn't bank like you. That's why I am here and not in Hollywood. I can see your talent and these negotiations is the main reason I'm trying to get our fan base excited as well as our sponsors & advertisers.
Now with your demands. First off, 45% is more than we can do. I know 20% is the base for wrestlers these days. How about we push it to 33% for you? Does that not sound fair? And you being champion it's vital that you are on tv. I don't expect you to wrestle every week. How about we give you the week off either before or after the ppv? Instead of 4 matches per month; it gets cut to 3. See I know how important family is. Gives you time with your children and lady. Now the big decision. I don't have an issue with you wrestling for other companies. We have a great relationship with HLW and BWA for example. We just ask for the money we are paying you that we are the priority.
Now Mr. Michaels does that sound fair? You see Mr. Michaels we got to find some middle ground. We at Viral Wrestling want what's best for our common interest and what's fair for you.
It was rumored that this was gonna be a negotiation process. Other companies were involved as well voices in his head. Viral was willing to negotiate to see if we can find a good resolution.

"I appreciate you coming all the way from LA to make this offer Miss York, but if that's the best you can do then I'm not interested. I don't want to be traveling 3 out of 4 weeks a month, putting my body on the line each night. No see I'm the champion. Your World Champion! I would have gladly dropped the belt to Matthias or Jack if you didn't close up shop early last season, making me a free agent.
You want a healthy champion, one that's going to make VW look like a million bucks. So I'll take 33% commission on Merch, but I am only going to wrestle one a month, and that's against the #1 Contender at the PPV. I will even make One additional appearance throughout each much, but in a non-wrestling role.
If not, I can always go to one of the other places, and drop the VW World Title to someone there."

Mr. Michaels I'll tell you what we can do since the negotiations are going well. Seems you are willing to compromise a little. We are good with merchandise royalties so let's talk about your other requests. As champion, I can accept the two appearances per month. Let's make one for the title and the other a non title defense. The money you are cool with so now it's about taking your workload from 4 times to only 2 times. That sound reasonable? You see Mr. Michaels I'm willing to give a little. Now can you just accept wrestling here 2 times a month? Your other weeks you can spend with your family or with another organization or maybe go see your girlfriend who's in HLW? Now can we work out a deal or is there another request you want?

Mr. Michaels I understand. You need to see what is best for you are your family. Just know I'm a phone call away. I do believe we will have a tough offer to beat. Oh just one thing you may have that title in your hand but it's Viral Wrestling property. I know you would never jeopardize it or the honor of holding that title. So think the offer over and get back with me. We would hate to crown another champion if you decided your talents were best served elsewhere. In other words Mr. Michaels I came to sign you but if you aren't with us come our first ppv then we would find a new champion.
You are a smart business man. I'm a smart business woman. The ball is in your court. Look the contract over. Fly to Los Angeles if you want to do business. Please talk to those you trust. We want what is best for you and your family. I want what's best for the company I half own. No hard feelings Mr. Michaels. I hope to hear from you soon.
The hand of Miss York extends to shake the hand of Nate. She handed him her business card hoping he would accept the offer in his time.
