* - Talent Scouts for Viral Pro & Innovation Wrestling were in attendance lastnight at Slaughter. Word around the back is they were impressed with 3 individuals in particular, and spoke with all 3. Nothing else has come of the situation, but UPW's board of directors are now put on the spot as they scramble to try to re-sign talent with expiring contracts, as well as putting a push on the school to develop stars at a faster pace to keep up with the competing companies.
* - In semi-related news, UPW has indeed signed on to compete against both companies, and others who sign on, in an all stars type competition. It's said to be team format, with various stipulations and match types being thrown at the competitors. The board, which would normally have an actual owner handling the team selection process, are meeting repeatedly trying to put together the best team possible. That includes bringing former talent back into the fold in some sort of role, to be eligible. Names from the past resurfacing could up the ratings and possibly put UPW back on a major network with a world wide pay per view distribution deal. With more money, comes more talent, which in turn draws in more money in a VERY vicious circle which could see UPW overtake the competition to become THE #1 company in the world.
* - In other news, UPW officials were impressed with the debut of ZERO, mainly his crowd response, and the reaction to his upset victory over Alex Vyruz. ZERO, an imported talent from Japan, recruited specifically by Sylas Styles, is only in his second year of his professional career. The young 18 year old talent is said to have a tremendous upside, but his lack of mic skills, or grasp of the English language are the only things holding him back. Creative has been tossing around the idea of matching him up with a male or female manager, or translator, to help bridge the gap between ZERO, and the North American audience who tend to latch onto the talent with mic skills. Your only as good as your catch phrase here, as opposed to his homeland where you don't need to talk if you can wrestle and entertain with your in ring talent.
* - Kaz Kronin has been cleared to resume his in ring career after suffering a torn rotator cuff a few months back in his submission war feud with AJ Pain. If you remember, then you know it was AJ Pain who used Kaz's own spiral arm bar submission to injure him, and prematurely end a push to the main event level where he was in line to succeed Brent Starr as UPW Champion. We wonder now whether he will still get the push, or whether he's lost his spot to the quickly rising talent such as Riley Kincaid or Gabriel Graves.
